CAINE MEYER
I am an equine behavioral consultant and professional trainer, instructor, and photographer based in Ventura County, California. The foundation of my program is rooted in equine behavior and the art of classical dressage, and I emphasize the importance of a forage-based diet, a balanced herd environment, correct saddle and bridle fit, and the mastery of barefoot trimming for the health, performance, and longevity of horses. I rode and taught for Amelia Newcomb Dressage for five years and am most heavily influenced by the attuned horsemanship of Warwick Schiller and the science of positive reinforcement in sport horses. For the past ten years, I have specialized in working with challenging horses; a talent that has carried over into the unique ways I start horses under saddle and approach problem solving. I am devoted to horses and believe in the commitment to groundwork so there are no “fireworks” in training. I am proud of my herd of rescues, and I welcome you to my program.
